The night before I was very nervous, like it was the first day of school. I was mainly nervous for the people that we were going to be in my class, not the commuting part. My body decided to wake up at 5 am, the time I would normally wake up for school. However, I had my alarm set for 6:30, so for an hour and a half I went on my iPad. Very productive morning I had. At 6:30 am, I tested my bloodsugar and took the amount of carbs for breakfast. My breakfast consisted of a gluten free bagel with cream cheese and two sunny side up eggs. Around 7 am, I got in the shower and did all the stuff one must do in the shower. Once I got out, I put my outfit I set out the night before. I did not happen to get a picture but it was very casual and cute. From the time range of 7:15-7:50, I straightened my hair and did my makeup for the day. After my friend and I got on the train and made into the city, we had to hand in forms and all that fun stuff. Here comes the fun part! We got lost. Very lost. Not in the city, but in the 10,000 buildings they have. We didn't have a building letter so we assumed it was building A, however it was the building we were originally in. After walking around confused and asking multiple people to help, a teacher kindly offered to help us and showed us the way. Here is another fun part: I walked into the wrong classroom and completely embarrassed myself. Snaps for Emma! Anyway, we eventually found our classroom, being 10 minutes late and our teacher understood the dilemma we were in.
Once we were situated, we got straight in the lecture. I happen to find styling very interesting and we ended up talking about mood boards. If you guys don't know what a mood board is, it's basically where you put fabrics, pictures from magazines, colorful tape, etc. to present to clientele in the fashion business. Mood boards can also be made in free time fun :) Here is an example:
For the first portion of the class we talked about the different types of mood boards that are available, celebrity styles that interest us and why we took the class in general. For the second portion we talked about stylists like Rachel Zoe and George Kotsiopolous. Of course I raised my hand for everything about Rachel Zoe. I even got to talk about Dream Dry and what it was about. The class soon ended after that but it was an amazing time. I went to Panera for lunch and got a Chicken Cobb Salad, yummy. I decided to take one class this summer because I wanted to relax and not feel rushed. Also I would get home at like 5:30 and never had time to myself after that.
